The 2024-2025 Premier League season will be the 33rd season of the Premier League and the 12th season of English football, overall. The forthcoming season will consist of 33 weekend rounds, four midweek rounds and one Bank Holiday match. In the upcoming season, twenty teams will compete for the ultimate glory, including the top 17 teams of the previous season and three teams that were promoted from the Championship.

The 2024-25 season will be an exciting affair in the football world, considering the return of Leicester City and Southampton after a year of absence and Ipswich Town’s return after two years. The first match of the season will be played between Manchester United and Fulham on August 17 (August 18 IST).  With another exciting sporting season set to jet off in less than a week, Argentine former footballer Sergio Leonel Aguero del Castillo, better known as Kun Aguero shared his opinion and predicted the name of the team that will be crowned as champions in an exclusive interview with Stake.

Not only this, but the Global Football Ambassador at Stake also discussed the ongoing off-season. He also spoke about the importance of winning the Community Shield during his time at Manchester City and said that the teams want to start off the season on the right note. This year as the Community Shield will see a Manchester derby, it will be twice as important. Not only this, but the former footballer also talked about transfer rumours of Kevin De Bruyne and said that while there is chatter about him joining Saudi clubs, he will remain at City.

As per Aguero, “He's been a deciding factor to aid the team in winning over new accolades. I think he's written his own chapter in the history of the club, and that Kevin has been one of the most important players in the past few years.” The 36-year-old commented on Oscar Bobb’s performance in the pre-season friendlies and said that from his performance last season, it is pretty evident that he is a talented football, with a good record in one-to-ones.

He further stated that the footballer will come up with an evolved performance and will win several matches for the side. In Sergio’s words, “I remember a match that he got to score on a crowded box by improvising a finish that nobody expected. I'm sure we'll see him evolve this year and give the team a lot of new reasons to celebrate.”

Finally, giving his verdict on the winners of the Premier League in the upcoming season, Sergio named Manchester City as the winning team and Arsenal as the runners-up. He also picked Aston Villa as a surprise package while voting for Haaland as the Golden Boot winner. Speaking up on his choice of Player of the Year, he picked Phil Foden while naming Cole Palmer as his pick for the Young Player of the Year Award.
