The second round of Duleep Trophy 2024-25 is underway in Anantapur. In the third match of the domestic tournament, India A is taking in India D at the Rural Development Trust Stadium and speaking of the current status, at stumps on Day 2, India A lead by 222 runs Pratham Singh scoring an unbeaten 59.
Shreyas Iyer-led India D won the toss and invited India A to bat first. The Mayank Agarwal-led side posted 290 runs in 84.3 overs with Shams Mulani leading the charge with his 187-ball 89. Tanush Kotian also played a crucial inning of 80-53, whereas Harshit Rana starred with the ball, scalping four wickets and finishing with the figures of 4/51 in 17.3 overs.
However, the India D side could not capitalise in their innings as they were restricted to 183/10 in 52.1 overs. Devdutt Padikkal top scored with his 124-ball 92, but none of the other players could not make the most of their inning in the middle with India A adding to the lead, scoring 115 runs in their next innings.
Shreyas Iyer claims first wicket on first delivery; celebration goes viral
India A took the charge once again as they then took the crease to add to their 107-run lead on Day 2 of the Duleep Trophy 2024-25. On the second day, India D skipper, Shreyas Iyer took the attack as he was seen rolling his arms in the 29th over of the India A inning. What was shocking was Iyer, who came to bowl his first over, he dismissed India captain Mayank Agarwal.
Iyer, who attracted trolls from all over for his yet another duck, ended the day with a bright smile as he took the prized wicket on the first delivery of his over, following into an elaborate celebration. Completing a return catch, Iyer claimed his fifth First-Class wicket and his first since 2018-19.

Speaking of the match, with Agarwal dismissed just before the end of days play, the scoreboard read 115/1. The side will hope to add more runs on the board in order to post a big total for India A to chase.
