After Bhowneesh Mendiratta and Rudrankksh Patil, Swapnil Kusale has earned India’s third quota for the 2024 Paris Olympics. Kusale earned this place after finishing fourth at the ongoing ISSF World Shooting Championships in Men’s 50m Rifle 3 positions at Cairo (Egypt).
Earlier, trap shooter Bhowneesh Mendiratta was the first to be named in the list followed by Rurankksh Patil making the cut after his top 4 finish in 10m air rifle.
Talking about the latest name in the list, the 27-year-old Kusale was placed second eyeing for the gold medal match but with a below par shot of 8.2 in his final shot, he missed the chance to play for the gold. At the end, Swapnil Kusale finished with a score of 407.6, losing the bronze by 0.3 points.
The Maharashtra born shooter had earlier finished second in the Qualification Round with an impressive score of 593. However, all four top finishers attained the Olympic quota for the Paris 2024.
