The second season of the Road Safety World Series is set to commence with defending champions India Legends going  up against South Africa Legends at Green Park, Kanpur on September 10 (Saturday). The eight-team affair will feature the retired cricketers from countries like India, Sri Lanka, South Africa, England, New Zealand, Bangladesh, West Indies and Australia.

Meanwhile Indian all-rounder Suresh Raina, who recently retired from all forms of competitive cricket has joined the defending champion Sachin Tendulkar-led side in Kanpur for the series opener against South Africa Legends. While India Legend is all set to lock horns with South Africa Legends, Suresh Raina has already begun his preparations for the showpiece event.

He shared the video of sweating out at nets ahead of his debut in the star-studded tournament. In the video, Raina can be seen batting in the nets and attending the shoots for the tournament.

Raina posted the video with a caption 'All set for the RSWS. Team #IndiaLegends.' Notably, Raina added a popular song by the late singer Sindhu Moose Wala in the background of the video. While Raina's post instantly went viral on social media, West Indies great and batter Brian Lara commented on the video urging the former Indian cricketer to come easy against West Indies Legend. "Take it easy on us," wrote Lara.

The 35-year-old announced retirement from all formats of the game on September 6, confirming that he will no longer participate in the Indian Premier League. Raina had previously announced his retirement from international cricket on August 15, 2020, shortly after the former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni drew curtains to his career. Suresh Raina will be a crucial addition of the India Legends squad as the master blaster Sachin Tendulkar will lead the squad featuring likes of Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, and Irfan Pathan.
