England's premier franchise cricket tournament, The Hundred has announced the change of rules and regulations regarding the salaries of women's players and player retention. The 2023 season saw Oval Invincibles win the Men' s edition while Southern Brave women emerged as title holders.

An additional £100k has been allocated to each team to increase salaries in The Hundred Women's, equating to £50,000 for the top slots and £8,000 for the lower tiers. Further, the player selections have also changed with retention and The Hundred Draft being the only avenues for team composition. Teams can retain a maximum of eight players with two of the three lowest salary slots open for the Vitality Wildcard Draft.

Changes in The Hundred Men's
The Men's Competition will have the same salary structures from 2023 but see a change in the selection mechanism. Teams will be permitted to retain one player as their nominated Central Contract player with the number of England Men Centrally Contracted players increasing. The nominated player will be the 16th squad member with a salary band of £125,000.

Teams will be allowed to retain players from the list of Centrally Contracted England Men's players as domestic players. If a retained nominated Central Contract player isn't available, a central contract player draft ensures equal distribution across teams. The maximum retention limit is ten players per team, with two of the three lowest salary slots left open for the Wildcard Draft.
