Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant opened up on his knock against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2024. The youngster made his T20I comeback after a year-long hiatus and went on to make a mark with his batting in some of the matches. Recently, the cricketer appeared in an event, where he revealed that the Indian team always feels pressure when it comes to playing against Pakistan.

Notably, in the T20 World Cup 2024 match against Pakistan, Pant came up with a crucial knock of 42 runs off 31 deliveries. Speaking about it in a recent event, Pant said that India and Pakistan games have always been favourites amongst fans. He also said that scoring a fifty against Pakistan is more than a hundred against any other team.

There is always an extra added pressure whenever we play Pakistan: Rishabh Pant

Pant said, “People remember India vs Pakistan messages for a long period of time. The fifty you score against Pakistan is appreciated more than the hundred you score in normal matches. There is always an extra added pressure whenever we play Pakistan. We feel like we shouldn’t lose against them. It keeps on running in everyone’s mind that it is the game with the most pressure and we have to give our 200% no matter what happens.”

Speaking about the boundary hat-trick against Haris Rauf in the game, Pant said, “We were unable to draw momentum towards us and I thought I should take a chance. Whenever you are playing, especially in T20, there are two options, you can plan to score your own runs or you take the chance considering the other thing is the best for the team.”
