Recently, ahead of Pakistan’s next match in the CWC 2023, where they will face Bangladesh at the Eden Gardens, the skipper has been under the radar after his recent WhatsApp chat got leaked. Notably, Babar Azam’s chat with Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) Chief Operating Officer (COO), Salman Naseer was leaked in Pakistan TV channel.

Notably, soon after it spread like wildfire, former Pakistan fast bowler, Waqar Younis has come out in support of the Pak skipper, hitting out for spreading such news. “Ya kya Karna ki koshish kar raha ho aap loog??? This is pathetic !!! Khush ho gaya aap loog. Please leave @babarazam25 alone. He’s an asset of Pakitan Cricket,” Younis said.

The WhatsApp chat read the COO asking Babar if he had called the PCB Chairman Zaka Ashraf, “Babar, there’s also been this new circulating on TV and social media that you have been calling Chairman and he’s not answering. Have you called him recently?” However, the message clearly shows Babar Azam denying, writing, “Salam salman bhai. Ma ny to sir ko koi call nai ke”.

However, to put things to rest, in an interview with a local channel, Asharf has reportedly refuted these allegations, saying that the Pakistan captain had never got in touch with him directly.
