India-Pakistan rivalry over the years in cricketing fraternity has hyped the cricketing fans and media all over the world and in the recent times, although they don't play regularly due to political tension except for in big tournaments like Asia Cup, Champions Trophy, ICC World Cups.
After 2019 ODI WC, for the first time India and Pakistan are set to play an ODI match against each other in Asia Cup 2023 (Group Stage) and notably, there is a good chance that India-Pakistan could clash against each other, three times overall in the Asia Cup 2023.

1. Asia Cup 1988
India defeated Pakistan in group stage of the tournament in a must win situation to qualify for 1988 Asia Cup final as they lost their previous match to Sri Lanka by 17 runs.
India winning the toss invited Pakistan to bat first and bundled their side for a total of just 142 runs as Arshad Ayub ended up picking a five-wicket haul (5/21) in a stunning fashion. Pakistan at one stage were 97/2 and from there they ended up collapsing to a total of just 142 runs.
India in reply were also struggling at 116/6 and looked like Pakistan have an opportunity to defend a small total on board but Mohinder Amarnath played a brilliant innings off unbeaten 74 runs from 122 balls and helped India cross the winning line.
