The Indian badminton players will be back in action at the upcoming Hong Kong Open, which is set to kickstart from Tuesday, September 10. The Indian contingent will be led by Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand pair, along with Priyanshu Rajawat as the other key players miss out.
Moreover, the Hong Kong Open Super 500 will mark the return of Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand to the BWF World Tour circuit after their last appearance on the tour at the Canada Open. The World No. 26 ranked pair are the highest-ranked women’s doubles pair in the country after Ashwini Ponnappa retired.
As the pair begin their journey for the next Olympic cycle (2024-2028), the duo will aim to achieve consistency and surge in the world rankings. On the other hand, they will be joined by the Panada sisters - Rutaparna and Swetaparna in the women’s doubles competitions at the Hong Kong Open 2024.
Priyanshu Rajawat to lead men’s team at Hong Kong Super 500 Open
In the men’s singles, the Indian contingent will be led by Priyanshu Rajawat. Meanwhile, he will be supported by Kiran George, who will also compete in the main draw. Chirag Sen and Manav Choudhary will also be seen playing in the upcoming tournament as they will start their campaign with the qualification rounds.
