The Babar Azam-led side is all set to take on India once again, but this time in the Asia Cup Super 4s clash in Colombo. As the hype around the Pakistan vs India clash continues to take the world by storm, the Men in Green have been dethroned of the ODI No. 1 Team Rankings as per the latest update released by the International Cricket Council (ICC).
Just days ahead of the earlier India vs Pakistan match in the Asia, Pakistan were crowned the No. 1 ODI team, but with Australia winning the second ODI against South Africa by 123 runs, have dethroned them from the helm, regaining their No. 1 label.

This move has sparked a lot of fans ahead of the much-important match between the arch-rivals. While some talked about the battle for the No. 1 continues between the two world-class sides, some also hit out at the Pakistan media for hyping the performance of the Men in Green after they became World No. 1 just 14 days back.

Talking about the last time India and Pakistan played each other, the match was called off due to incessant rain in Kandy. After winning the toss, the Men in Blue had opted to bat first. But the Indian top order failed to the pace bowling attack of the Men in Green as Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli departed on quick succession post the first halt in the game. Meanwhile, it was Hardik Pandya and Ishan Kishan who steered the Indian innings to post 266/10 in 48.5 overs. However, later the match was abandoned without a ball being bowled in the second innings.
