UEFA has started investigating the allegations against the Real Madrid quartet for alleged indecent conduct during the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16 against Atletico Madrid at the Metropolitano Stadium earlier this month. The likes of Antonio Rudiger, Vinicius Jr, Kylian Mbappe, and Dani Ceballos allegedly made gestures towards the Atletico Madrid fans after they defeated their club on penalties, to make the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League (UCL).

According to the report published in BBC Sport, there were TV pictures wherein Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger appeared to have made a throat-slitting motion after his team defeated the city rivals. On the other hand, Kylian Mbappe reportedly made a crotch-grabbing gesture at the Atletico Madrid fans, following which the club reported the incident to UEFA last week.

An ethics and disciplinary inspector has been appointed to investigate allegations of indecent conduct: UEFA

If any of the four players of Real Madrid are proven guilty, then they run the risk of getting suspended from UCL matches, but at the same time, there isn’t any guarantee in regards to when the investigation will conclude. Real Madrid are slated to take on Arsenal in the Champions League quarter-finals clash, beginning with the first leg away in London on April 8 before the second leg happens at home in Madrid eight days later.

The official statement from the UEFA on the alleged incident in connection with the Real Madrid quartet earlier this month at Atletico Madrid read, “[An] ethics and disciplinary inspector has been appointed to investigate allegations of indecent conduct" made by the four Real Madrid players. Further information regarding this matter will be made available in due course.”

Moreover, Real Madrid are scheduled to host Leganes at the Santiago Bernabeu in a La Liga clash on Saturday, March 29, as the club football returns to action following an international break.
