A US court rejected a woman’s plea against footballer Cristiano Ronaldo to pay her more than the hush money in Las Vegas rape case. A woman named Kathryn Mayorga and her lawyer tried to force the football star to pay her more than $375,000 in hush money he paid her after she accused him of raping her in 2009. Maygorga’s lawyer had asked the court to overturn the federal judge's dismissal of the case in Las Vegas in June 2022 and reopen the case she filed back in 2018.

Not only this, but they argued that the U.S. District Judge Jennifer Dorsey should not have rejected Mayogra’s attempts to unseal and make the confidentiality agreement public, that she made in 2010 while accepting payments from the Portugal captain. The move was rejected by a three-judge panel of the court in the latest updates.

The Associated Press (AP) quoted Judge Johnnie Rawlinson’s statement, “The district court clearly recognized the gravity of dismissing the case and accordingly provided a thorough analysis, amply supported by factual findings.” Notably, in 2009, a teacher and model, Mayorga accused the football star of assaulting her.

Last year, Judge Jennifer Dorsey charged Mayorga’s lawyer with $335,000 for acting in ‘bad faith’ in filing a case on the behalf of Mayorga.
