Known as a free-to-play first person tactical hero shooter game, Valorant’s Team Deathmatch is a fast-paced 5v5 game mode with four timed stages, no econ, and respawning in just 1.5 seconds upon death, ending when a team completes 100 kills. As per AFK Gaming, when the Team Deathmatch in Valorant was initially released in the summer of 2023 with Patch 7.00, it had three maps, which will now have a new addition called Drift along with the upcoming Patch 7.12.
TDM Map Drift is going to feature a three-lane setup, which divides the playing field into left, right, and center, with a zipline weaving through the map and allowing the option to move across lanes. It is expected to be great for the duelists like Jett and Raze, who will be able to use their movement-based abilities with the help of the zipline.
Drift will allow for more predictable fights in Valorant TDM: Joey Simas
The Lead Map Designer for Valorant TDM, Joey Simas talked at length about what to expect from Drift map. He was quoted as saying, as per InsideSport, “For gameplay we wanted to create a long-range space that players would enjoy fighting over. There’s lots of aim duels to be had but there’s also a rope overhead that players can jump up to and quickly swap lanes.”
“Artistically we took inspiration from Thailand and its floating markets. Drift takes our approach to TDM maps and carves out more isolated lanes allowing for more predictable fights. It also features a long range mid that has several paths. This will let you weave in and out of the space for more dynamic engagements,” he added.
