Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has continued from where he left last season as the 24-year-old Nigerian star has already scored six goals in his eight appearances for the Serie A defending champions in the Italian league this season. However, Osimhen has been making headlines for various off-the-field incidents including his social media trolling by Napoli, and recently his brother-in-law accused the 2023 Serie A Golden Boot winner of "abducting" his sister.

Last season, Osimhen beat Inter Milan's Lautaro Martinez to become the first African player to win the coveted Capocannoniere prize (Serie A Golden Boot) with his 26 goals in 32 matches. His goalscoring spree helped Napoli win the Scudetto (Serie A championship) for the first time in 33 years in the 2022-23 season.

Osita Okolo, who is married to Osimhen’s sister, earlier claimed that the Napoli striker and his agent William D’Avila still owed him over $400,000 in commission for his move from Lille to Napoli in 2020. Okolo took to X on Tuesday, October 10, and shared a video claiming that Osimhen sent the DSS authorities to forcefully abduct his own sister. Okolo wrote,  "@OfficialDSSNG has gone rogue. Victor Osimhen sends dsssng to forcefully abduct his sister (my wife) over a matter that is still in court bw myself and him."

Four days later on Saturday, Okolo replied to his tweet and claimed that Osimhen set the DSS authorities to "beat, molest, and strip his wife naked in the streets of Nigeria." He wrote, "You are evil  @victorosimhen9 ! All I asked for is "return my commission". You sent @OfficialDSSNG to beat, molest, slap, and strip my wife naked on the street of Nigeria. You will pay for this."

During the international break this week, Osimhen featured for the Nigeria national football team in a friendly against Saudi Arabia on Friday. However, the striker had to be substituted in the early minutes of the second half after limping off injured in the 2-2 draw.
