The power couple - Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma are back into the news as they announced the mergers of their respective foundations - Anushka Sharma Foundation & Virat Kohli Foundation. This newly introduced initiative called ‘seVVA’ is said to help people in need and is not confined to any particular cause, as reported by PTI.
The couple in a statement quoted Khalil Gibran’s words as they said, “For in truth it is life that gives unto life - while you, who deem yourself a giver, are but a witness.”
“SeVVA’s work won’t be confined to a particular issue as it will continue to strive for social good by championing humanity which is the need of the hour today,” it further added.
Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma have been active contributors towards social cause and upliftment of the society. The couple raised around INR 11 Crore for the Prime Minister Relief Fund and Chief Minister Relief Fund of Maharashtra during the COVID-19. Anushka is also involved with the PETA, while Kohli has been an active contributor in providing scholarships to sportspersons through Athlete Development Program (ADP).
Talking about the cricketer, Virat will now be joining his IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore for the upcoming edition, meanwhile Anushka Sharma is shooting for her next film ‘Chakda Xpress’.
