India’s star batter Virat Kohli has looked in fabulous touch ever since he returned from a break. Kohli looks rejuvenated in the way he is approaching his innings and he reaped the rewards of it against Afghanistan here on Thursday. The 33-year-old came to open the innings for India with KL Rahul and cautiously played the first ten balls. But once he found his touch, there was no going back for the star batter.
Kohli got to his 33rd half-century in T20Is in 32 balls and casually raised his bat. He soon reached his maiden T20I century with a brilliant six off Fareed Ahmad. Kohli hit the left-arm quick over the deep midwicket boundary to bring his maiden T20I hundred. He reached the landmark in 53 balls. After reaching his first-ever century in the shortest format of the game, Kohli was all smiling.
The batter had a broad smile on his face and a sense of relief.

Here is the 71st for Kohli
With this century, Virat Kohli brought his 71st international century and ended a long drought of 1020 days. It felt like it's been ages since Kohli scored a century but when it came, all the pain of his fans was gone. And by the looks of Kohli's celebration, it seemed the batter also felt the same. Kohli had a grinning just like a child who has just got his favourite gift.
The 33-year-old was clinical in his approach right from the start of his inning. He got a couple of lucky boundaries but for the most part, Kohli was in full control. Although India lost KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav in quick succession, Kohli did not stop and kept smashing Afghanistan bowlers.
After completing his half-century, Virat made an adjustment to his batting stance and took the opposition by storm as he scored 72 runs in 29 balls post his fifty. The batter hit twelve boundaries and sis sixes in his inning of 122* (61).
