Indian cricketer KL Rahul organized a charity auction named ‘Cricket For a Cause’ along with his wife and Bollywood actress Athiya Shetty. In the auction, several big names from the Indian and international cricket also shared items from their kit with Virat Kohli’s jersey receiving the highest bid in the auction. 

The auction was an initiative from Vipla Foundation to support their cause for providing quality education to the underprivileged children. KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty also became a part of the initiative and organized an auction where the cricketers can put some items for their kit to support the cause. His Indian team partner Virat Kohli also donated his jersey which was sold for a whopping ₹40 Lakhs, which turned out to be the highest bid in the auction. 

Apart from that, the batting gloves which were donated by the former Indian captain MS Dhoni, were sold for ₹28 lakhs in the auction. Dhoni’s bat and gloves helped to generate ₹3,50,000 and ₹13,00,000, respectively for the noble cause. Along with that, the current Indian captain Rohit Sharma also donated his bat and gloves which helped to fetch ₹24,00,000 and ₹7, 50,000 in the auction.

Apart from these big three names, other popular Indian cricketers like Yuzvendra Chahal, Rahul Dravid, Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja, Sanju Samson, Ravichandran Ashwin and Shreyas Iyer also contributed for the cause by their fellow cricketer by donating item from their cricket kit. Along with them, England skipper Jos Butter, South African wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock and West Indies’ batter Nicholas Pooran made valuable contributions in the auction. Total ₹1.93 were raised in the auction itself. 

KL Rahul also shared his thoughts after a successful auction conducted by him and his wife. He said that this auction was very close to his heart. “The proceeds from this auction will go directly towards supporting the Vipla Foundation's special school for hearing-impaired and intellectually disabled children, a cause that is incredibly close to my heart,” the Indian cricketer was quoted as saying by IndiaToday.
