Sri Lankan veteran Angelo Mathews after getting dismissed ‘Timed Out’ at the ODI World Cup 2023 in India, got out in a bizarre manner on Sunday, 4th February during the Only Test against Afghanistan. The Lankan batter, who was almost nearing his 150, got hit wicket out in the 102nd over.
After leaving the first delivery of the over, Matthews went deep into the crease and pulled it hard through backward stumps on the next delivery being bowled by Qais Ahmed. In this process, the 36-year-old couldn’t control and swung his bat and hit the stumps, leaving everyone stunned with his dismissal.

Kasun Rajitha replaces Gunasekara as concussion substitute
Sri Lanka debutant Chamika Gunasekara was forced to retire hurt after he was hit on the helmet by Naveed Zadran bouncer on the third day of the ongoing only Test between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. However, the Sri Lanka Cricket did not name anyone as his replacement but later called Kasun Rajitha as Afghanistan began their second inning.
Sri Lanka’s team manager in a development, confirmed to ESPNcricinfo that Gunasekara was taken to the hospital for further assessment after leaving the field.
