On Thursday, October 26, before the UEFA Europa League Group B match between Brighton and Ajax kicked off at the Amex Stadium, fans from both clubs brawled at the train station nearby. In a viral video, they were seen throwing objects, while the police scrambled around all over the place to control the situation from escalating further.

Ajax, the Dutch footballing giants, who have been struggling big time in the Eredivisie this season, travelled to the south of England, to take on the high-flying Brighton in the Premier League. Both these teams were yet to register a win in the UEFA Europa League, with Brighton losing to AEK Athens at home, before drawing at Marseille, while Ajax drew to Marseille at home, and repeated the same result away to AEK Athens.

At the Amex Stadium, Brighton was able to dominate Ajax from start to finish, to register a historic first-ever win in European competition by 2-0. Joao Pedro scored the opening goal in the 42nd minute, before Ansu Fati doubled their lead in the 53rd minute, to boost the chances for the Seagulls to qualify through to the knockout stages of the UEFA Europa League.
While talking to TNT Sports, the manager of Brighton, Roberto de Zerbi, was quoted as saying, “We have got the first victory in Europe for Brighton. It is a great day for our fans, our club, our owner and we are very proud to give them this day.”
