India and Afghanistan are locking horns in Match 9 of the ongoing ICC ODI Men’s Cricket World Cup at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. After opting to bat first, the Hashmatullah Shahidi-led side posted 272/8 in their 50 over, courtesy a captain’s knock of 80 off 88 ball and Azmatullah Omarzai’s 62off 69 deliveries.

While two played some exceptional shots during their stay at the crease, it was Naveen-ul Haq who hogged the limelight for the Afghan side. The much-hyped and talked about rivalry from the IPL 2023 was put back in front of the fans as the Afghan pacer took the field to bat in the 49th over of the inning.
As soon as Naveen stepped in, he was welcomed with loud cheers of “Kohli…Kohli”. During his eight-ball stay in the middle, the entire stadium echoed with Kohli chants. It is to be noted that the Afghan pacer also played his first shot towards Kohli at the fine leg.
However, it wasn’t just the cheers, the former Indian kipper was also captured giving some fiery reaction during this moment. The rivalry between the player from the Asian countries dates back to May 1, 2023. The two were involved in a heated exchange during Royal Challengers Bangalore’s match against Lucknow Super Giants at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.
