Rajasthan Royals are set to initiate their “Pink Promise” day against their encounter with Royal Challengers Bengaluru on April 6, where the home side will don the complete Pink jersey to support the inspirational and empowered women from rural India. The franchise unveiled the initiative last month in the presence of Rajasthan Sports Minister Rajya Vardhan Singh Rathore, and Kumar Sangakkara.
Explaining the essence of this initiative, Rajasthan Royals keeper batter Dhurv Jurel in a podcast with Taran said, "6 ko jo hum match khel rhe hai RCB ke against, usme kya hai ki jaise isme naam likhe hue hai sabhi ladies ke naam likhe hue hai, aur bahut saari village hai jahan pe electricity nahi hai."
He also hopes to hit as many sixes in the match which will plant more solar panels in the rural areas, “Har chakke pe solar panels lag rhe hai wahan par to koshish karenge jitne jyada se jyada chakke laga sake, chakke maar sake, jitni saari electricity spread kar sake uss area mein.”
(The match we’re going to play on the 6th against RCB, In that match, everyone’s name is written, you can see the names of all the ladies written here and there are lots of villages, where there’s no electricity, solar panels are being put there on every six, so we’ll try to hit as many sixes, as we can to spread as much as electricity as we can in that area).
