Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green confronted match referees after Austin Reaves wasn’t given a foul for knocking Green. In the match that ended with the Warriors securing a 134-120 win over the Lakers, Green engaged in a heated moment with the referee where he argued over the ‘no call’. After the game, he expressed his frustration over the incident that took place in the third quarter where Reeves wasn’t called for a foul for knocking Green with his elbow.
He said that if he had made a similar move and hit someone in the face, he would have been ejected. In the post-game conference, Green said, "Austin gashed his elbow, hit me in the teeth, and it's not foul. I get hit in the face every single game, and I get no foul calls. I hit someone in the face, I get thrown under the jail. But when I get hit in the face, they don't see it.”
Green added, "I get hit in the face every single night. I'm not sure one time it's been called. But I f***ing blow my breath on somebody, and we're reviewing for a flagrant foul. I don't get this, it's crazy to me." The 34-year-old also expressed dissatisfaction with the way the officials talked to him and said, "Steph was standing here, because he heard how the referee talked to me, and he went immediately from talking to me like, 'Yo, you can't talk to him like that.' And I think that's the wackiest part about it.”
He continued, “You can say and speak to me however you feel, but if I say something back, it's a tech. Like that's whack to me.” In the game, Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green combined a total of 65 points and 16 made three-pointers. Curry and Green combined to make their first 11 three-point attempts as the Warriors finished with a season-high 26 made threes.
