After the Electra Stumps made its debut in the Women's Big Bash League in October this year, the light-flashing stumps are set to appear for the first time in the Big Bash League 2023-24. The tech-rich stumps have a unique way of indicating various decisions in cricket as they flash different shades and combinations of colours to indicate a decision.
Former England skipper Michael Vaughan and Australian legend Mark Waugh unveiled the new stumps on Friday ahead of the match. The two former cricketers talked about the unique features of the Electra Stumps.

The Electra Stumps will flash different combinations of colours to indicate different decisions. Check the colours and combinations for each decision:
1. Wicket: Red light followed by fire
2. Fours: Colour Shift
3. Sixes: Colours Scrolling
4. No ball: Red and white colour scrolling
5. Between overs: Purple and blue scrolling

The Electra Stumps featured in the BBL 2023-24 11th match between the Adelaide Strikers and the Sydney Sixers at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Talking about the match, the Strikers won the toss and invited the Sixers to bat first, who placed a target of 155 runs at a loss of seven wickets with Jordan Silk scoring an unbeaten knock of 66 runs.
