In a latest video making round on social media, Team India’s T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav was questioned on India’s decision to not travel to Pakistan for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy, set to be played in February-March 2025. However, the news has been hitting the roof with the decision of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) not resting well with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the several others.

It is to be noted that on Sunday, November 10, the PCB opened up on India’s decision which was communicated through the ICC to the PCB. However, Suryakumar Yadav, who is currently leading the Indian cricket team in the four-match T20I series against South Africa in the rainbow nation, was also caught up in the heat of the moment.

Pakistan kyu nahi aa rahe aap?: Suryakumar Yadav reacts to fan’s query

In a video circulating on social media which saw fans pose with Team India T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav, a fan questioned the Indian skipper on team’s decision to not travel to Pakistan. “Mujhe ek baat bata saktein hai? Pakistan kyu nahi aa rahe aap? (Why are you not coming to Pakistan?),” the fan said. To this, the Indian batter quickly responded, “Arrey bhaiya, hamare haath mein thodi hai (Brother, it is not in our hands).”

Watch Suryakumar Yadav respond to fan’s query:

It is to be noted that India last travelled to Pakistan since 2008 Asia Cup. However, their last bilateral series came in 2013-12 and thereafter, the two cricketing nations have only featured in ICC tournaments. Their last clash came at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 in the USA where India beat Pakistan by six runs.

Moreover, this is not the first time that India has refrained from traveling to Pakistan as in 2023, the Pakistan Cricket Board was forced to move the Asia Cup in hybrid model with India playing its matches in Sri Lanka.

Coming to India’s ongoing T20I series against South Africa which stands levelled at 1-1, saw the Men in Blue win the first match by 61 runs, followed by South Africa coming back strongly in the game and winning the second match by three wickets in Gqeberha. The third match of the series is set to be played on Wednesday, November 13 at the SuperSport Park in Centurion.
