D uring the first Test between India and New Zealand, Team India skipper, Rohit Sharma was seen sharing a light-hearted moment, that is making rounds on social media. With the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction around the corner and the franchises set to submit the retained players' list by October 31 to the IPL General Council, there have been speculations of Rohit Sharma leaving the five-time champions, Mumbai Indians (MI).
Although there have been significant talks around Rohit Sharma’s future with the franchise, one of the fans, who was present inside the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru during the first Test of the three-match series, asked Rohit, “bhai, IPL mein kaun sa team? (Which team will you play for in IPL?)”.

In the video going viral on social media, as a fan questioned Rohit of the franchise he would be playing for, the Indian skipper quickly responded stating, “Kaunsa chahiye bol (Which one do you want?” However, Rohit came up with his usual witty reply, the fan was quick to respond as he can be heard saying, “Bhai, RCB aajao yaar”.

Although Rohit Sharma refrained from further replying to the fan’s plea and continued his walk towards the pavilion. It is to be noted that Rohit Sharma has had a successful stint with Mumbai Indians (MI), leading the side to five IPL titles, joint most along with Chennai Super Kings.
Despite enough success at helm with the Mumbai-based franchise, Rohit Sharma was removed as captain of MI ahead of IPL 2024, with Hardik Pandya replacing him. This decision by the franchise did not sit well among the fans with several hitting at Pandya. Moreover, in IPL 2024, MI finished at the bottom-most spot in the points table with just four wins from 14 matches.
