A football match between Turkey’s Trabzonspor and the Fenerbahce in the Super Lig turned into an ugly brawl on Sunday, March 17. The local match turned into a boxing match after the home team, Trabzonspor suffered a 2-3 loss to the visitors, leading to the home fans invading the field.
Following the conclusion of the match, the Fenerbahce players started their victory celebrations at the center of the pitch and soon saw fans in attendance storm the field and attack the visiting side. The members of the security were quick to come in between but nothing stopped the home crowd.
In one of the videos going viral, one player from the opposing team nearly landed a spinning back kick to the face as others lashed out throws and punches. The brawl brought in some ugly and chaotic scenes in the middle, videos of which are going viral on social media.

The fight even saw corner flags being used as makeshift weapons against the players. However, the visiting side was shielded by security forces to make way to their dressing room.
Following this incident, Turkey’s Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya has reportedly launched an appeal for investigation. As reported by several media outlets, including Daily Mail, the Turkish minister took to X to launch a probe into the matter writing, “After the Trabzonspor-Fenerbahce football match played this evening, an investigation has been initiated immediately to identify the spectators who entered the pitch and to investigate the incidents that took place at the end of the match.”
The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) has also called the incident “unacceptable” and said that “necessary criminal sanctions will be imposed on those responsible for these incidents.”
