The Virat Kohli - Gautam Gambhir saga continues in the Indian Premier League as fans were seen chanting Kohli’s name at the LSG mentor after Lucknow's game against Chennai Super Kings. The two Indian batting stars were involved in a massive verbal spat after the Lucknow and Royal Challengers where the RCB registered a big win.


Throughout the game, tempers were flaring as Kohli was seen at his aggressive best with his passionate celebrations and sledges. Towards the end of the match, Kohli was involved in a heated back and forth with LSG pacer Naveen-ul-Haq, which spilt over during the post-match greetings between the two teams. 


Here Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir came face to face and had a massive verbal altercation where other LSG players had to step in and diffuse the situation. Then after the washed-out game against Chennai Super Kings, Gautam Gambhir was walking back to the dressing room when fans in the stands were heard chanting, “Kohli! Kohli!”. Reacting to this Gambhir was furious and even gave the ones shouting a death stare before continuing to walk.

As an aftermath of this incident, Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli were fined 100 per cent of their match fee for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct. They were also admitted to the Level 2 offence under Article 2.21 of the Code of Conduct. Similarly, Naveen-ul-Haq was also fined by the IPL for committing a Level 1 offence under Article 2.21. He was also handed a 50% fine on his match fee.
