The 2023 Utah All-star game will be Antetokounmpo's seventh career selection and addressing the future, he hopes to play in seven more events as he never takes it for granted. He said, "This year is my seventh and I'm 28 years old. I will never take it for granted. Hopefully, I can have seven more, but you never know."

The All-Star Game returns to Salt Lake City for the 1st time since 1993 and will have a new format for the selection of the marquee exhibition fixture. For the first time, the NBA All-Star Draft has been scheduled before the game.
