Australian powerhouse batter Glenn Maxwell hit his fifth T20I century during the second T20I clash against West Indies on February 11 at the Adelaide Oval. With this, he equalled India skipper Rohit Sharma’s record of most hundreds in the shortest format. Maxwell hit 120 runs off 55 deliveries, with eight maximums and 12 boundaries. He guided his side to post their highest T20I total against the West Indies with 241 runs at the loss of four wickets in 20 overs.

Maxwell had already levelled Sharma’s record by hitting 104* against India in Guwahati last year. However, the Indian skipper scored and went a step ahead by hitting a century against Afghanistan in January 2024. Currently, Sharma and Maxwell sit at the top of the standings, followed by Suryakumar Yadav, who has four T20I centuries, and Babar Azam with three T20I centuries in 109 matches.

Glenn Maxwell smashes 109-meter six off Alzarri Joseph's delivery

Aussie hitter Maxwell pulled off a 109-meter-long six off an Alzarri Joseph delivery in the second T20I at the Adelaide Oval. Maxwell scored a 25-ball half-century after the Aussies batted first during the game. On the second ball of the 12th over, Joseph bowled a length delivery at the off-stump, and Maxwell played it with a big swing on the bag.

The 35-year-old sent the ball deep into the stands with a gigantic 109-meter six. After the innings, he told the broadcasters, "It's nice, got my parents here as well. I have had a few cursed Adelaide trips with them coming over to watch me. I broke my leg the last time they tried to come over to Adelaide. So it's nice to have made this a positive one.”
