On Tuesday, January 2, the Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya sent out a video on his official Instagram account, sweating it out in training after suffering an ankle injury that ruled him out midway from the CWC 2023. The training video of the 30-year-old came out just before the start of the three-match T20I series for India against Afghanistan at home.

Since Hardik Pandya sustained an ankle injury against Bangladesh at the MCA Stadium in Pune in an ODI World Cup 2023 match in October, he missed out on a lot of games for India in all formats. The Gujarat-born cricketer, who was expected to captain India in the five-match T20I series against Australia at home, missed out on playing it all together before he didn’t travel to South Africa to participate in a three-format tour.
But, despite the tough times, Hardik Pandya ushered in the new year on a positive note with a training video of himself, performing multiple exercises in his bid to make a comeback to cricket at the earliest. He captioned the post, “Progress, everyday,” accompanied by a victory hand emoji to potentially send a signal to the fans that his arrival to the sport is imminent.

Moreover, the fortunes of Hardik Pandya in franchise cricket soared after he completed a sensational move from Gujarat Titans to Mumbai Indians for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League in 2024. Shortly after, he was also appointed as the new captain of the five-time IPL champions, replacing Rohit Sharma at the helm.
