India’s wicketkeeper batter Ishan Kishan has risen to the ranks. While Kishan was already a force to reckon with in the domestic circuit, the southpaw established himself on the big stage when he recently blasted a double century against Bangladesh. Kishan carried his excellent form into the Ranji trophy as he scored a century against Kerala while playing for Jharkhand.
Now, when Kishan returned to his home state, he was surrounded by fans. Many wanted selfies while some asked for Kishan’s autograph. The wicketkeeper batter was humble enough to oblige to all the requests from the fans. However, Kishan refused one of the fans’ requests to sign an autograph. While this sounds rude to many, the reason behind Ishan’s gesture is heartwarming.
The fan who asked for Kishan’s autograph also had MS Dhoni’s signature on his mobile cover. Kishan was quick to notice this and hence the wicketkeeper batter denied signing an autograph above Dhoni’s signature. Kishan also explained his decision. The Jharkhand cricketer said that he can’t sign above Dhoni’s signature as he has not reached that level yet.
“Mahi bhai ka hai signature aur uske upar bol rahe hain mera karne…mereko thoda ho nahi raha hai (This is Mahi bhai’s signature and you are telling me to sign above it. I can’t do thi),” Kishan is heard saying in a viral video. “Mahi bhai ka signature hai upar, abhi humlog utna pahunche nahi hai wahan par…neeche karta hun (I have not reached the level of MS Dhoni, I will sign in the bottom),” he added.
