The popular YouTuber and former Twitch streamer competed against giant streamers like Emiru, Lirik, Ludwig, and Valkyrae to win the Variety Streamer of the Year award. The award ceremony saw Kai Cenat win the Streamer of the Year award for the second time in a row. Twitch CEO Dan Clancy looked annoyed when Speed's name was announced as the winner and a picture went viral over the internet.

When Speed reached the stage and took his award, the 18-year-old gave a shout-out to Cristiano Ronaldo and perfectly did SIUUU at the end. He said, "I wanna give a huge shoutout to everybody, Ronaldo, and Thank You all," and added a SIUUU at the end.
