Sussex pulled off a close four-run win against Middlesex in the ongoing Vitality Blast T20 on Friday at the Lord's Stadium. During the match, Sussex all-rounder James Coles raised eyebrows as he pulled off another great catch to dismiss the in-form Jack Davies of Middlesex on the bowling of Nathan Manekshaw.
Coles had redefined gravity earlier in the season as he took a diving catch off Sam Curran against Surrey where he dived on his right to take a one-handed screamer. On Friday, the Sussex all-rounder pulled off yet another stunner to help his side register another victory.
The incident happened when Middlesex needed 15 from the last nine balls with Davies hitting them all over the place. The Middlesex County's wicketkeeper-batter was looking good as he tried to hit Manekshaw over long on and Coles jumped to take an excellent catch on the line where he had to jump and throw it back in the air to take it for a second time.
The crucial catch probably gave them their second win of the season as the game would have been virtually over if the ball had gone over the rope. In the first innings, Coles had provided the finishing touches to the Sussex innings to guide them to 181 with his 13-ball 21.
