Delhi Capitals (DC) spin-bowling stalwart Jess Jonassen was seen recreating SRK’s iconic pose along with Jemimah Rodrigues during their team's clash against Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 13th match of WPL 2025 held at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. In the crucial game, DC won the toss and invited Mumbai to bat first. MI lost their openers Yastika Bhatia and Hayley Matthews early in the game and Jonassen also struck the first WPL champions with her left-arm spin bowling. She got rid of Harmanpreet Kaur and Nat Sciver-Brunt in her back-to-back overs to help Delhi have a command over the game.

After dismissing both key players, Jonassen looked exultant and did the SRK pose. She received support from her teammate Jemimah Rodrigues, who walked with her and recreated the pose. The 32-year-old concluded her four-over spell with 3/25 figures and also emerged as the leading wicket-taker in the game. Jonassen’s disciplined bowling contained MI on 123/9.

Meg Lanning’s batting brilliance outclass Mumbai

Chasing the low target, Delhi openers Meg Lanning and Shafali Verma started exceptionally with their bats. Verma lost her wicket after scoring rapid 43 off 28 but the Australian continued slaughtering MI’s bowling unit. She scored her eighth fifty and took her team home in 14.3 overs with nine wickets in hand.

Jonassen became the player of the match (POTM) for her disciplined bowling. This was Delhi’s fourth victory in the competition and they are still on the top of the points tally. Mumbai, who didn’t have a great outing, are in the second spot with three wins and two losses.
