With the help of KD’s 31 points, nine rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block, the Suns defeated the Dallas Mavericks 114-102 in a clinical team performance, thwarting the individual heroics of Luka Doncic.
After turning 36 just last month, Kevin Durant is still on top of his game, delivering MVP-calibre performances night after night for the Phoenix Suns at the start of the new NBA season, with a record of 2-1 in three games. During his 17-season journey with the likes of Seattle, Oklahoma City, Golden State, Brooklyn, and Phoenix now, KD has accumulated 29,010 career points at an average of 27.3 points after 1,064 games.

During his latest appearance for the Suns, Kevin Durant shot 10/21 from the field and 4/8 from the three-point range, to accumulate 31 points on the night against the Suns. Although Luka Doncic ended the night with 40 points of his own for the Dallas Mavericks, he still had to deal with KD’s “Too Small” gesture as the latter leaped over the Slovenian to score a picture-perfect two pointer.
When KD was asked about becoming the eighth NBA player to 29,000 career points, he responded, “Man, it speaks to the so many people that helped me out, so many people that gotten to gel with me, encouraged me, sent me text after the bad games, took time of their life to come watch me play, invested in my career, it’s all about them. So I was glad that I was able to do it with this group of guys in front of this crowd, I got more to do.”
