Malik Monk, the Sacramento Kings shooting guard had a mouthful for the referee moments after his team lost a humdinger to the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday, January 16. At the Footprint Center, the Suns stunned the Kings by 119-117 after a late surge, overcoming a 22-point deficit in the final quarter thanks mainly to Kevin Durant and Grayson Allen.

The first half of the contest was a complete domination from the Sacramento Kings, taking a commanding lead with the scoreline reading 68-51. During the final quarter, they were leading by 109-87 until the Phoenix Suns staged a comeback to remember.

It was the three-pointer from Grayson Allen, followed by vital play from Kevin Durant and Eric Gordon, that helped the Phoenix Suns tie the game at 115-115 with less than a minute to play. At the very end, the free throws from Durant were enough for the Suns to attain an unlikely win against the Kings.

Malik Monk, who wasn’t pleased with the referee about his calling during the game for the Sacramento Kings, let him know about what he felt about it, moments after the finish. Notably, he got 13 points for the Kings on the night with eight assists and three rebounds.

The stars of the show for the Phoenix Suns were Kevin Durant (27 points, four assists, five rebounds) and Grayson Allen (29 points, six assists, five rebounds). The top scorer of the game was from Sacramento Kings, De’Aaron Fox, who got 33 points with six assists and two rebounds.
