The display of sheer athleticism and confidence won over fans at the iconic Lord's ground as they gave Wade a round of applause. The video of the effort was posted on the Hundred Twitter account, where it made waves and was viewed more than 100 thousand times by cricket fans on social media.
Jordan Thompson threw a low full toss at Tom Curran, who lashed the ball into the air for what seemed destined to be a six. The ball seemed to fly over Matthew Wade, who jumped with his strength to grab the ball with both hands. Then came Wade’s quick thinking and experience. He had a split second to decide to not only reach the flying ball but to push the ball back onto the field. After getting back on his feet, Wade then threw the ball back, almost running out Narine in the process.
