After a successful performance in the recently concluded British Grand Prix, a video of Mclaren F1 drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri playing each other in a cricket match has gone viral. Norris being from England and Piastri from Australia the duo tried recreating the iconic Ashes, which has been a historic cricketing rivalry between the two nations for more than a hundred years.
Norris and Piastri led teams representing their countries in a video for Sky F1 where Team England had the likes of former England batter Mark Boucher, Sussex and England pacer Tymal Mills, Former F1 champ Damon Hill and more. While the Australian team included Piastri with multiple Sky F1 personalities and England cricket Tamsin Beaumont, who scored a double century in the Women’s Ashes Test match.
England bat first as Lando Norris struggles to score runs quickly. Similarly, his teammates also find it difficult as Piastri make it tough to score with the ball. Finishing up the England innings, Norris top-scores with 13 runs as his team sets a target of 34 runs. Then in the Australian innings, Piastri and Co quickly reach the target with the Aussie F1 driver stars by scoring 27 runs and carrying his team to an easy win.

Talking about the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, Red Bull’s Max Verstappen continued his dominant run and won his sixth consecutive race in the 2023 season. Behind the Dutchman, finishing second was Lando Norries while Mercedes’ star Lewis Hamilton was third. Taking up fourth place was Oscar Piastri while the fifth stop was taken by George Russell of Mercedes.
Reacting to his career-best result and a home podium, Norris said, “Pretty insane. I just want to say a big thanks to the whole team, they've done an amazing job. They put me on hard tyres, I don't know why, they are still beginners in some things! I did what I could, I brought the fight to Max as much as possible."
