After a difficult batting effort, India rocked back in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 Final against Australia thanks to Mohammed Shami. The Indian pacer continued his purple in the World Cup as managed to dismiss Aussie opener David Warner with an incredible out-swinger in the second over of the second innings.

Batting first, the Men in Blue posted a total of 240 runs with half-centuries from Virat Kohli and KL Rahul. Then with the ball, Jasprit Bumrah, after a near-perfect first delivery, conceded 15 runs as the ball moved a lot in the air and off the pitch. Then in the second over, Shami also found some swing but sent out a wide.

Coming back to re-bowl the first ball, the West Bengal seamer sent out a good length delivery which got some late swing and took a thick outside edge. As the ball flew towards the slips, Virat Kohli didn't make any mistakes and completed a sharp catch and gave India the first breakthrough.
