A Chennai Super Kings fan delayed his daughters’ school fees and paid ₹64,000 to watch MS Dhoni play live in the IPL 2024. There is no denying that former India and CSK captain MS Dhoni has one of the vast fanbases. While it’s been more than three years the cricketer has hung up his gloves, his fandom continues to remain the same. With the rumours spreading in the air that the five-time IPL winning captain will announce his retirement from the tournament after the current season, fans don’t want to miss out on any chance to see the cricketer play live.

A fan’s craze for the 42-year-old cricketer got extreme when he bought tickets for one of the CSK’s matches in black and paid a sum of ₹64,000 to see him live once. What caught everyone’s attention was the fact that he delayed the payment of his daughters’ school fees and used the money to purchase the tickets instead.

In a video doing rounds on social media, the fan could be heard saying, “I didn’t get the tickets, so I bought them in black. It was a total of ₹64,000. I am yet to pay the school fees, but have decided to pay them later. We wanted to see MS Dhoni just once. My three daughters and I are very happy.” The video went viral on X, and the man was slammed for not understanding his priorities and choosing an IPL match over paying the school fees.

Notably, the Ruturaj Gaikwad-led side defeated Kolkata Knight Riders in their last fixture, and made a comeback in the tournament after registering two back-to-back losses. In their next clash, CSK will lock horns with arch-rivals Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium on April 14, Sunday, in what is known as the El-Clasico of IPL.
