Indian fast bowler Mukesh Kumar was seen enjoying his haldi ceremony ahead of his wedding. Kumar was part of the Indian team for the five-game T20I series against Australia. The Delhi Capitals pacer was a crucial cog in Team India's two back-to-back wins with consistent line and length in tough bowling conditions.

So far in the series,  Mukesh Kumar picked up just one wicket across the two games but kept the Aussie bowlers in check as he was assigned to bowl in the difficult overs. Ahead of the third T20I in Guwahati, Kumar took leave from Team India as he returned home for his wedding.

Talking about Kumar's absence, BCCI released a statement sharing that Kumar will rejoin the squad ahead of the fourth  T20I in Raipur. The Board also shared that fast bowler  Deepak Chahar has been added to the squad for the remainder of the series.

The statement said: "Fast bowler Mukesh Kumar made a request to BCCI to be released from India’s squad ahead of the third T20I against Australia in Guwahati. Mukesh is getting married and has been granted leave for the duration of his wedding festivities.  He will join the squad ahead of the 4th T20I in Raipur.  Pacer Deepak Chahar has been added to India’s squad for the remainder of the series."

Similarly, the Indian captain for the T20I series, Suryakumar Yadav also wished Mukesh Kumar on behalf of the team at the toss before the third T20I. Yadav said,  "One change for us - Avesh replaces Mukesh, who is playing his biggest game, he's getting married and we wish him all the best."
