The Test hundred in Melbourne was a very special moment for Nitish Kumar Reddy and his family as they had to face so many difficulties in pursuing his cricketing career. In a video shared by the BCCI. Nitish revealed that his father left his job for him. “My father left his job for me. There were sleepless nights and financial struggles, but he always stood by me. When I saw him crying once, I decided I had to work harder to make him proud," Nitish said.

Nitish Kumar Reddy’s father Mutayala Reddy also reflected on the struggles their family had to go through while Nitish was pursuing his cricket career. "Nitish played really well today. I am very proud. We have struggled a lot. We are thankful to the Indian team," his father said.
