Team India is hosting Bangladesh in the first of the two-match Test series at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Star Indian all-rounder, Ravichandran Ashwin starred with a century knock for the hosts as he helped India put up a competitive total in the first innings of the ongoing Test after a disastrous start.
While Ashwin’s cen t ury came off 133 balls, including 11 fours and two sixes, he continued to entertain fans on Day 2. After Day 2’s play in Chennai, the Indian all-rounder decided to dry his clothes by spreading them on the ground, adding a touch of humour to the occasion. The incident unfolded after stumps on Day 2 with spectators still inside the stadium.
The star spinner came out of the dressing room with his wet clothes even before the spectators left the stadium. While this came as a surprise to the fans, some of them cheered him while a few fans jokingly suggested Ashwin to open the innings, video of which is going viral on social media.

Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant take India’s lead to above 300
Speaking of the first Test which is underway in Chennai, India was asked to bat first. However, they did not have the start that was expected as the hosts lost three wickets in the opening session of the first Test with Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli departing cheaply at the scores of 6, 0, 6 respectively. Situation worsened as the scoreboard read 144/6 at one point of time before R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja rescued the side, playing valiant knocks.
While Ashwin made a fine century, Jadeja also added 86 runs off 124 deliveries. The two stitched a crucial 199-run partnership. The hosts posted 376 runs on the board and then restricted the visitors to 149, courtesy four wickets from Jasprit Bumrah, along with two wickets each from Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep and Ravindra Jadeja.
At the end of Day 2 in Chennai, India added 81 runs to their lead with the fall of three wickets. Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant stepped up to take the charge at the crease, taking a 308-run lead at the end of day two of the ongoing first Test in Chennai.
