The 2023 edition of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2023 in underway and match 18 of the tournament saw Barbados Royals lock horns with St Kitts and Nevis Patriots at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown. While the Royals made a mockery of the chase, winning the clash by eight wickets in hand.
However, during this run chase, it was Rahkeem Cornwall who shone with the bat and even won the Player of the Match for his match-winning innings. In the 15th over of the Royals inning, Cornwall cleared his intent as he smashed a 45-ball century to help his side near the winning-run mark.
However soon after he reached his ton on the back of a brutal batting display, Cornwall did a bat-drop celebration, video which is now doing rounds on social media.
Talking about the Royals, the Rajasthan Royals-owned franchise in CPL stands fourth in the points table, having won three matches out of the seven games played so far in the tournament. The Rovman Powell-led side will next play Trinbago Knight Riders on September 6 at the Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad.
