India is currently taking on Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup 2023 Final at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. While it was Dasun Shanaka who won the toss and invited the Men in Blue to bat first, who were looking to bat first  this time . However, after a delayed start in the match, India were spot on with the bowling.

 

While Jasprit Bumrah got the first breakthrough in Kusal Perera, Mohammed Siraj got four wickets in his second over. On the first ball of the fourth over, Siraj dismissed Pathum Nissanka, courtesy a brilliant catch at the point by Ravindra Jadeja. The Indian all-rounder, who never fails to impress with his brilliant fielding, flew to his right from backward point to take a regulation catch.

On the third delivery, Siraj sent Samarawickrama, putting the visitors on top. Things however did not seem to stop at this point as Siraj sent Charith Asalanka on the very next delivery with Ishan Kishan taking a sharp catch. He ended the over with another wicket on the final ball, dismissing Dhananjaya de Silva and finishing the over with four wickets, conceding four runs.

After these four wickets, Mohammed Siraj completed 50 ODI wickets and became the fifth fastest (29 innings) to reach this feat.
