Rajasthan Royals’ batsman Riyan Parag is busy playing in the Bhairab Chandra Mohanty Memorial Cricket Tournament, an inter-state tournament. Leading Assam, Parag scored a match-winning century in the final against Jharkhand. Jharkhand’s skipper, Virat Singh, got his call right at the toss and chose to field first.

The Assam openers got out within the first two overs, and Assam looked in trouble at 20-2. But skipper Parag walked in at No. 4 and led the charge ahead. The Jharkhand attack consisted of a few common names, like Shahbaz Nadeem, Anukul Roy, and Monu Singh. The RR youngster brought up his 50 in 29 balls and steadied the ship for Assam.

He continued to dominate the bowling lineup by scoring all over the park. He attacked the bowlers sensibly, without a single rash shot. Soon enough, the 21-year-old was on 99* at the end of the 17th over, and Monu Singh was bowling the 18th over. Monu bowled a low full-toss to Parag on the leg stump. But Parag was swift enough, as he swung his ball and hit the ball to the leg-side for a fabulous flat-six. With that six, Parag completed his century in just 50 balls.
