Indian captain Rohit Sharma was furious with his partner Shubman Gill after being run out against Afghanistan in the first T20I in Mohali. After winning the toss, the Men in Blue had a decent bowling effort and restricted the Afghans to a score of 158 in the first innings. Mukesh Kumar and Axar Patel picked up two wickets each while Shivam Dube picked one.

As Team India came out to bat in the second innings, Rohit Sharma started with a dot on the first ball before driving the ball towards mid-on. Stationed in this position, Ibrahim Zadran put on a full-body dive to stop the ball when Sharma had nearly completed the run. But unfortunately, his batting partner, Shubman Gill was watching the ball.

As Zadran finally got hold of the ball, he comfortably threw it to the keeper Rahmanullah Gurbaz, who comfortably took off the bails to complete the run-out. Reacting to this dismissal, Sharma was furious with Gill as he angrily walked about the dressing room.

After this wicket, Gill scored a few quick runs before getting out against Mujeeb Ur Rahman. After hitting the finger-spinner for two boundaries, Gill stepped out of his crease but missed the ball. Once again, Rahmanullah Gurbaz stepped up to inflict another critical dismissal. The Indian opener was back in the pavilion after a score of 23 runs in 12 balls with five boundaries.
