India are taking on Australia in the T20 World Cup 2024 Super 8 clash at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet, St Lucia on Monday, June 24. While the Men in Blue are coming into this fixture on the back of a win against Bangladesh, extending their winning streak, Australia suffered a thumping defeat at the hands of Afghanistan.
Earlier in the match, Mitchell Marsh-led side won the toss and invited India to bat first. Team India skipper Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who finally returned to form in their previous match, gave a quick start with Sharma hitting four sixes off Mitchell Starc’s over. In the third over of the Super 8 match in St Lucia, Starc went for a full on off and Rohit lofted it over deep extra cover for the first maximum.
He continued his attack as the 36-year-old smashed Starc for back-to-back sixes, landing the ball in the same region. Things eased out as he went for a boundary on the next delivery but once again landed the Mitchell Starc delivery out of the park on the fourth ball. The final maximum came in the final ball of the over with Starc going for 29 runs in the over.
