In a heartwarming scene following the conclusion of the match 11 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, the Rajasthan Royals (RR) players paid their respect to the opposition player and legend MS Dhoni by removing their caps before shaking his hand at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati. The humdinger of a contest belonged to RR as they managed to defeat Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by six runs, to register their first win of the IPL 2025 season.
After the video went viral on multiple social media platforms, the fans were quite appreciative of the RR players for taking the moment to give the deserved respect to the cricketing legend MS Dhoni. The 43-year-old has been a beacon of hope for literally every cricketer in India for the better part of last two decades, and it was fully on display as Rajasthan Royals players were appreciative of his contribution to the sport not just in their country, but around the world.

MS Dhoni was dismissed in last over of the match by Sandeep Sharma with 19 runs required to win
The former Indian captain, who was playing for CSK against RR in the latest IPL 2025 match, had a reasonable chance to win the match for his team in the last over, when his team needed 19 runs. But, he lost his wicket to RR pacer Sandeep Sharma on the first ball of the over as Shimron Hetymer took an exceptional diving catch after running more than 10 meters, and following that, the hosts got over the line.
Earlier in the match, Nitish Rana was the star of the show with the bat as he smashed 81 runs in just 36 balls with 10 fours and five maximums, playing a key role for RR in reaching 182/9 total. With the ball in hand, Jofra Archer bowled a very good spell in the powerplay before Wanindu Hasranga took four wickets, but still, it required a cool and calm head of Sandeep Sharma to ensure RR stayed on the winning track at the end against CSK.
In their next match of the IPL 2025 campaign, RR will be taking on Punjab Kings (PBKS) on April 5 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur.
