Indian ace shuttler Saina Nehwal heaped praise on fellow Indian badminton players. With the 19th Asian Games approaching, the 2012 London Olympics bronze medalist appreciated the game of HS Prannoy and P.V. Sindhu and has high expectations for medals in the upcoming continental showpiece. Nehwal, who has been out of court due to back-to-back injuries for a long time opted to pull out of the Asian Games 2023 selection trials due to injuries.
Nehwal was at a promotional event, where she told reporters that since players like HS Prannoy and PV Sindhu have been doing well at the international level, there is hope for a good display of the game at the upcoming tournament. She said, "All are doing extremely well, they are performing well. Specially HS Prannoy is giving back-to-back good results.”

The 33-year-old said, “Let's see, there are some tough challenges around them but I feel HS Prannoy is good and of course, PV Sindhu has always done well at the highest tournaments.”
Notably, the 19th season of the Asian Games is set to commence on September 23 in Hangzhou, China. India’s badminton team for the continental tournament is as follows:

- Men’s doubles: Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty and Dhruv Kapila/MR Arjun (individual/team)
